Denmark’s Minister for European Affairs Marie Bjerre (Venstre, DK) will preview the Danish Presidency of the Council of the EU in a series of meetings with the general public across Denmark.

The “EU tour” will start on 24 February in Rødding and pass through Brussels and the Danish cities of Copenhagen and Aarhus before concluding on 13 June at the yearly Folkemødet event in the island of Bornholm.

“[The Presidency] is a huge task and also an opportunity for Denmark to have even more influence on EU policy. That's why I and Venstre invite you to a series of EU kick-off meetings around the country. It's a great opportunity to gain insight into European politics,” said Bjerre.

Each event will have a separate topic and feature different guest speakers from Venstre such as party leader and Denmark’s Minister of Defence Troels Lund Poulsen, Asger Christensen MEP, Morten Løkkegaard MEP, the speaker of the Danish Folketing Søren Gade MP, and Venstre’s spokesperson on EU affairs in the Folketinget Christian Friis Bach MP

Venstre aim to bring together EU Member States on common solutions to some of the most important challenges facing Europe such as European security and defence cooperation, enlargement, the war in Ukraine and food security.
